Getting ideas to carpenters: How you can help

During our recent trip to El Salvador and Honduras, as we followed up with carpenters and trained new ones, whenever we opened up one of the woodworking magazines we packed along, the carpenters would gather round and tell us how much they would love to see more of them. To them, the magazines serve as inspiration for new designs, as well as a catalog they can show to potential customers showing items they could build.

Acquiring magazines is no problem; most of the Tools for Opportunity board works for publishers of woodworking magazines. The challenge: shipping them. Paper is heavy! And Central America is far! Shipping the stack of magazines shown above will cost over $60. That’s where you can help.  Your donation can help us get these issues packed and shipped and into the hands of carpenters hungry for new designs they can build and sell to help provide for their families. Click the “Donate” button on the left side of this page. Cover the entire amount, or just help us chip away at it. We thank you in advance for your generosity.
